Interact with and Entertain Our Cats from Your PC

iPet Companion is a novel program that lets you remotely control a robotic toy in a playroom full of adoptable cats from any PC. Try it out at the Oregon Humane Society.

We don't have an iPet yet because the cost is a bit prohibitive, but we can't imagine a cooler way to interact with our adoptable cats and keep them exercised. And it's not all fun and games: statistics show that shelters with an iPet have drastically increased adoption rates because of the exposure their pets receive.

So, want to help us get one and improve our already stellar adoption rates?  It's easy: click the "Help Us Help Them" animation in the corner of the iPet live feed (after you're finished playing with those kittens) and follow the simple instructions.

With a little bit of luck and a lot of support, we can introduce this cutting-edge technology to the HSBC! 

So I did go and play wif da kittehs. It iz lots of fun and I could seed how dis would gets more people in to look at da kittehs in real life too. Dem robots costs $5200. Dats a lotta kitteh foods. So u can seed why dey iz askin fur us to halp dem by donatin. (I gonna donates soon az human2 turns herz back and I can gets herz wallet.) To donate go to Oregon Humane Society and play wif da kittehs (u will need to download/install microsoft's silverlight (or wotever it iz called -- but it a safe program to use) and when u are dun either click on da Help Us Help Them image. (when the controls disappear it comes back see ma top pikshur).

You will be taken to a two page explanashuns of wot dis robotic kitteh toy iz and who da company iz wot makes dem. Den iffen u wanna halp Humane Society of Berks County get one click on donate heart at bottom (see ma pikshur below).

Now you will seed a form (see bleow) to donates. fill it out and please choose Humane Society of Berks County from the drop down box so dey will hab da moneys credited to der account. I would ABSOLUTELY LUB to seed dem get dis. Can u halps us?

SCIFIpawty Wuz a Pawsum Success - Fank U Fank u Fank U

WOW da anipals werld iz so PAWSUM. Der really isn't enuff werds in da kitteh dikshunary to describe just how pawsum u iz. Last year we did da first ever SCIFIpawty and you guys rocked it. Dis year's event we had a higher goal and not only did we meets it we did beats it!!! Da kittehs at One By One Cat Rescue will be getting over $1600 from SCIFIpawty, but i finks dat might grow since we can takes donashuns thru June 18th for da event.

We had sum really pawsum sponsors for our pwizes dis year and sum truly really OUT OF DIS WORLD pwizes.

Jane Wiedlin, rock star and anipal lover extraordinaire, did donates sum pawsum autographed items wot we are still accepting entries/donations for --- Autographed Go-Go's CD at whataslacker.com & Autographed Lady Robotika Comics at ScifiSlacker.com.

Da WE MEAN CLEAN folks at Bissell did donate a Bissell SpotBot Pet wot is ending tomorrow 3/29/11. So gets dem entires/donations in today over at BorisKitty.com.

Other companies like ThinkGeek.com, Nylabone, Kong, TokiPoki.com, Happy Tails Books, Neko Flies, Imperial Cat,   DogToys.com and CatToys.com gave lots of pawsum prizes too. But the generosity did not stop der, the anipal community that attends SCIFIpawty and donates der hard earned moneys and der time also donates sum really, really wunnerful prizes too. I cannot sez fanks u enuff to everybuddy wot halped out wif dis event. I will be posting da quiz/prize info on da official SCIFIpawty pages in a few days. U can also seed all da great costumes and winners of the costume contest there as well.

Human2 wuz a little overwhelmed when herz learned dat r lil SCIFIpawty would also encompass dis months PawPawty, but da pawpawty regulars stepped up and halped make dis 12 hour event into a 24 hour event full of fun n good times.

Fox 43 News Halps Animals Thru facebook

Ok so u wanna halp but u don't hab time to volunteer or u don't hab lots of money to donates. How's about u lets your facebook profile do all da work. Wif just a few clicks you can halp donate money and get the word out. For instance r local news Fox 43 be donating $500 for every 2000 "likes" der page gets on facebook. Can't get any easier than dat, but if you could take it a small step further and share the link on your profile stream to get the word out and ask ur friends to do the same it will really halp da anipals of Lancaster County.

Why One by One Cat Rescue?

I haz has sum folks askin why I likes to donate stuff and go play wif da kittehs at One by One Cat Rescue. Well da simple answer is dey doz a LOT of good for kittehs in ma area. But der iz a long answer too.

Way back when I wuz a babeh someone comed into da shed I shared wif ma litter mates and our mom cat. We wuz feral kittehs (u know da ones wot dunt especially likes peeple). Well da young guy wot founded us did not know dat ma Momcat would be back to move me and my brofur (we were da only tw left in da shed at da time) so he did wot he thought was right (more peeple needs to knows more about how to treat feral cats. please visit Alley Cat Allies for more information and how you can halp edumakates peeples) and he did scoop us up to try to find us homes. His Aunt lady took my brofur wot leaved me cold and alone inside an old cookie tin.

Da young guy and he girlfriend (ma now humanz neighbor) came ovah to ma humanz house (because dey is known da werld ovah fur bein crazy cat ladies -- MOL) and asked if dey wanted me. Dey alreddy had 3 senior cats and did not think dey wanted da responsibility of a wee kitten so dey said no, even tho I had gibbed dem ma best and cutest helpless kitten look. As da kids turned to leave dey started to talks about takin me down to da Humane Society. Dat did not sound too bad dey likes pets rite? Well Human2 did stop dem kids in der tracks and went inside to talk to Human1. I herd sumfing about humane  society and puttin to sleep. I did not likes da sound of dat so boy wuz a relieved when dem two bigger humanz came back out and said dey would take me.

Well first dey needed to find out how old I wuz cause i wuz just a wee little fing and needed to get me some nmos and a place to sleeps. So Human2 did jump on da fing called da pooter and looked stuff up. Human1 wented to da garage to get a carrier to make a nest fur me (ma first mancat cave) and to separate me frum da old lady cats. Human2 started making calls den sent human1 off to da store for baby formula cause da pet store wuz closed. I wuz gibbed noms and a warm bed I wuz happy.

Da humanz stayed up talking. Dey wuz still not sure about keepin me. Dey said sumfin about weaning me den findin me a forever home. Human2 tried callin da kitteh rescues. dey said, "no sorry we are full". Human2 gotted to talk to sum1 from One By One who offered great advice, but still said dey could not take me.  We know dey iz always takin in kittehs from all ovah and it hard to find sumone wot can and will take a kitten that needs to be hand fed. So we not hates dem. dem sezzin NO turned out to be da bestest fing to eber happen to me and da Humanz. Az da weeks went by and dey could not find anybody who would take me (not dat dey tried too hard mind you), dey started to fall in lub wif ma cute little snoot. (can u blame dem?)

So all because One By One Cat Rescue turned me down ovah five years ago I now haz da bestest forever home I could ever hab. Fank u One By One.

Human2 did go ovah to visit Peanut dat sweet kitteh wot wuz shot and dat we all pulled togetter to halp Peanut wif herz BIG vet bill.

Human2 did takes dem a wunnerful big check fur $1210 from all u wunnerful, wunnerful anipals. FANKS U.

Like Kiki, Peanut iz not out of da woods yet. Der recoveries won't be certain until February and dey both run da risk of losin da leg wot haz des bad injuries.

Peanut comed out of her cage to say howdy to human2. Herz iz a BIG sweet heart. Gibbin H2 nosetaps & cheek rubs all ovah da place. Boy did herz lub chin scritches and rubs behind da ears.

We did gib Peanut all da same goodies we gibbed Kiki Last night...comfy bed, blankie, warm cuddle pal, sum toys & we did gets her a Kritter Kondo too. Peanut did play wif one of da catnip toys until human2 did takes it away frum herz cause H2 did not wants Peanut hurtin herself. Herz did bunny kick and lub dat toy. I sure hopes herz gets better qwik so herz can play wif dem toys.

Donations to One by One Cat Rescue

Yester day I did sends ma Human2 off on a mission of delivering donashuns to da cat rescue -- One By One (U mite remember dem az da group wot could not takes me cause dey wuz all full up. But dat a-ok wif us cause dat iz why I hab ma forever home here wif Human1 & Human2!)

Az u can see we had TONS of fings to deliver thanks to dem great peeples over at CatToys.com & their wunnerful customers wot donates thru der webby site. We also added da beds and loads more toys to makes dis an AWESUM PAWSUM DONATIONS to dis great group. Plus we wanted to get our paws on dem cute little babies from dat sweet poor Skittles dat da ARL did do wrong.

O My Cat! Look how cutes & sweets dem lil babies iz! Dey doz hab a forever home & dey will be going to it purrty soon. We iz beary happy dat we gotted to meets dem afore dey mooves away. Good lucks to u in ur forever & ever home girls!

Now lets me tellz u, dem nice peeples at One By One sure doz luv dem kittehs, but I also knows dey would likes to hab every single one of dem moove out to a forever home. So I would likes u to see sum of dem cute cute kittehs wot needs a special person to comes into der lives.

June iz Adopt A Shelter Cat Month

Okai, i nose you haz alreddy seed ma posty about dat adordable kitteh Socks over at da Humane Society of Berks County....so why isn't herz adopted yet? It iz Adopt a Shelter Cat Month affer all!

Halp Holly Get a Forever & Ever Home Plz

Dis bootiful kitteh iz named Holly. Herz iz 6 years old. herz wuz handed over to da Humane Society of Berks County on 3/21/2010 cause herz owner did hab too many kittehs to cares fur.

Herz iz a brown tabby wif white face, paws & hind leggies. Herz iz sooooo affekshunate & lubs being petted & groomed. See fur ur self in dis video.

Herz iz microchipped, spayed & up to dates on all herz shots. In utter werds herz iz reddy to moove rite in to a noo furever & ever home.

Herz iz beary curious az all kittehs iz (see video) and just da sweetest fing human2 did play wif herz fur over half an hour. (Would hab been more but herz needed to go to da ARL az well.)

Looks at dem purrty markins on dis putty tat! MEOWZA!

We finks herz haz a beary purrty snoot too & not just cause it cute likes mine....MOL.

 

I iz beggin u ta pahleez....no purrty pahleeze go to da Humane Society of Berks County & adopting dis precious kitteh cat. Trust us one visit wif herz & u will falls in lub wif her.

April May Bring Flowers But It Also Brings Donations

Today we did loads up da car wif loads of donashuns for da puppehs & kittehs at da local shelters here in Reading, PA. Da donashuns do come to us from moneys we raised online wif Sponsored Tweets and direct donashuns from DogToys.com, Inc.

We hads so many fings to gib dem dat we wuz able to go to two different shelters. We wented to both da Animal Rescue League of Berks County and da Humane Society of Berks County az well.

It wuz really hards werk loadin all dem goodies in da car. So I did hab to takes a nice big rest afore sending human2 out on herz mission to deliverin all dem goodies.

Below iz only a small sample of da kittehs wot gotted toys frum our visit to da Animal Rescue League. We did gib da four big colonies at da ARL scratchers den handed out toys to all dem utter kittehs. (We even had toys lefted over so any dat were out at doptshun days could gets sumfin when dey comes back to da shelter). 

 Dis cutie iz Tanner he a sweet little babeh (we haz more pikshures dey will be posted soon).

Come back tomorrows fur more donashuns dis time we'll see kittehs from Humane Society. Sorry we did no plays wif pups dis time, but dey gotted a TON of treats frum us & DogToys.com! Fanks u.
